Discovering Umbria is a project born in 2006 by Alessandra and Leonardo Mallozzi, Umbrians, born in Todi where they currently live and work. Sister and brother, wine and food experts, Certified Sommeliers FISAR (Italian Federation of Sommeliers, Hoteliers, Restauraters) and Extra Virgin Olive Oil Tasters.
In 2010 Discovering Umbria won the "Italian Responsible Tourism Award - Wine Tours in Umbria"
In these years Discovering Umbria has been recommended on many important international magazines and blogs: The Telegraph Travel, USAToday, BBC Travel Lonely Planet, Sidney Morning Herald and and more.
In order to support the local economy, we have involved in our project small local family-run farms, wineries, oil mills and food makers producing high quality, organic food products in Umbria.
Through the Discovering Umbria project you'll have the possibility to meet personally the local farmers and, in case, to buy directly your favourite “grown&made in Umbria” food at a fair price thanks to the direct relation between the local producer and the customer. Supporting local farmers helps Umbrian farmers to continue to grow fresh, good and clean food for you and for the next generations. For these reasons Discovering Umbria has chosen not to get any profit on the wine/food products that you may purchase at our partnered farms and wineries.
